Crowchild Classic draws in more than 10,000 fans

The Mount Royal University Cougars Men’s and Women’s Hockey teams faced the University of Calgary Dinos for the annual Crowchild Classic on Wednesday night.

Both teams secured a win, with MRU winning the Men’s game through a shootout, and the Women’s Dinos beating MRU 2-0.

After regulation and stoppage time, the Men’s game finished 2-2.

Cougars keeper, Shane Farkas, was named the first star of the night having made 18 saves in the game, as well as keeping the Dinos out the net in the shootout.

The Women’s game ended 2-0 to the Dinos, with Courtney Kollman and Elizabeth Lang scoring in front of the 10,474 fans.
