THE PURPS SET OFF FOR WEMBLEY TO MAKE HISTORY!!

AFC Stoneham, step 5 side, are set to make club history as they reach the FA Vase Final and are promoted to step 4!

A club which built with over 1,700 volunteers around the club, have finally finally broken their curse and have gotten into step 4 football.

After 2 years of back to back misery, falling short at the last hurdle, finishing 2nd twice in a row, the Hampshire based side manage to secure 1st place with 6 games left of the season.

After already facing silverware on two occasions this season, in the league and winning the Russell Cotes, The Purps are looking to win the quadruple at WEMBLEY.

With only the Southampton Senior Cup and FA Vase left Stoneham are looking to get it done on the big stage.

For AFC Stoneham it is a historic season already but more in the making as the Purps are set to play Wembley on the 17th May in the Vase.

It’s the first time in the club”s history that club have reached the FA Vase final.

The Purps Have had a hard run to the Final, beating both Favorites Haywards Heath and Coventry United, they are now looking to make their hard work count by making the Wessex League proud and bringing the trophy home to Southampton!

Defender Dan Miler who has already Won the Vase in his past with Sholing in 2013/14, says,

“I’m really looking forward for it. It’s a dream to play at Wembley”

“To do it with this group, is unbelievable and it’s gonna be a great day’

Assistant manager Mick Marsh who was a part of the coaching staff with Sholing in 2013/14, is set to make a return back to the ground, say,

“I am so so excited to be going back”

Chairman Mark Stupple, who has been chairman of the club for the last 12 years, says,

“This is the greatest night in our history”
