The world’s most fierce Derby returns

SERBIA’S Eternal Derby between Crvena Zvezda and Partizan returns to Belgrade tomorrow at 17:00 GMT.

Many people have labelled this match as one of the world’s feistiest derbies, through the passion of the fans of the respected teams.

The use of choreographies, pyrotechnics and overall intimidating atmosphere has ranked this fixture to the very top.

Both teams currently occupy the top two spots in the Mozzart Bet Superliga.

Partizan sit in first with 59 points, meanwhile their city rivals Crvena Zvezda are one point behind on 58.

In the last 48 meetings, Partizan are two wins superior with 16 overall.

However Crvena Zvezda have won their last 10 domestic matches at the Stadion Rajko Mitic, which will be hosting this fixture.

Although, Partizan have the league’s best away form with only one defeat all season against Radnicki Nis back in December.

Key Players To Watch

The main man to look out for in the Crvena Zvezda is midfielder Peter Olayinka.

Having joined the club last summer from Czech side Slavia Prague, the Nigerian has accumulated seven goals since his arrival.

Olayinka has recenty featured in the Nigeria’s Super Eagles squad as well.

Meanwhile, their neighbours have a star of their own.

Brazilian forward Matheus Saldanha had thrived this season by scoring 16 goals in 27 matches in all competitions.

Saldanha joined Partizan from Japanese outfit JEF United Chiba in July 2023, and has had loan spells in China and more recently Azerbaijan.
