AFTER easing past West Brom on Friday Southampton aim to start another record breaking streak against promotion rivals Hull City.
The South Coast side were extremely dominant during their 2-0 victory at the Hawthorns, whereas The Tigers grabbed a late 94th minute winner against Huddersfield to win 2-1.
Talking in his pre match press conference Southampton manager Russel Martin said: “I thought the changes we tried to make on Friday, the players handled so brilliantly and put on the pitch so brilliantly.
“So I was really grateful for that, and Tuesday is a different test.
“There will be some different things that we’ve had a look at and worked on, hopefully they go and carry them out as well as they possible can, as they did on Friday.
“We need it to be the game we want it to be.”
After winning only once in January, Hull brought in forwards Anass Zaroury and Fabio Carvalho on loan, and have claimed victory in four of their last five matches.
Speaking to Hull Live after Carvalho joined the Orange and Black’s manager Liam Rosenio said: “What a great character.
“He loves football and I’m absolutely delighted that he’s here.”
In a boost for the home side, striker Che Adams will be back in the squad after being out with injury, although on loan midfielder Flynn Downes may still be sidelined.
The last time the two sides met in October Ryan Fraser’s 95th minute winner secured a 2-1 win for the Saints.
That match will be played at St Mary’s and will kick off at 7:45 on Tuesday 20th of February.
