MARSEILLE have sacked Italian manager Gennaro Gattuso after a bad run of form in the league.
Currently sitting ninth in Ligue 1 the French club decided it was time to part ways with the ex AC Milan player.
During his short term in the managerial role Gattusso only managed to win nine games out of 24.
The Italian had only been manager since September, playing 15 games at the home stadium of Marseille the Stade Vellodrome.
With only being in charge of the club five months it was clear to the owners of Marseille that he was not the right man to bring Marseille back to the top.
With five of the 15 resulting in a loss, five wins and five draws, the French club decided it was time to part ways.
Gattuso’s replacement has been announced to be Jean-Louis Gassett, who was recently Sacked by Ivory Coast just before their record 4-0 loss to Equitorial Guinea.
However the Elephants went on to win the tournament without Gassett, so a change might be a good move for the 70 year old French man.
