EASTLEIGH FC have confirmed the appointment of former Southampton goalkeeper Kelvin Davis as their new first team manager.
The news comes after Richard Hill departed the club via mutual consent on Saturday following a 3-0 defeat at Ebbsfleet United.
The 47-year-old will join the club alongside former Saints colleague Danny Butterfield, who will take up the position of assistant manager.
The pair join the club with the Spitfires currently sitting 15th in the National League and without a win in nine matches.
Davis is well-known around the area having notched up 301 appearances for the Saints during a ten year spell at the club.
The former Saints captain has also spent time coaching at the club, spending another four and a half years as a coach, gaining his UEFA Pro License in that time.
Davis has been out of work for over a year and a half now, after he was sacked by the club in the summer of 2022.
New assistant manager Danny Butterfield was most recently assistant head coach at Lincoln before leaving his role earlier this season.
Current coaches Jason Bristow and Vince Bartram will remain at the club as part of Davis’ backroom staff.
