Karren Brady leaves her role as West Ham vice-chair after 16 years

APPRENTICE star Karren Brady has stepped down from her role as vice-chair of West Ham United.

The news comes less than 24 hours after the Hammers goalless draw at Selhurst Park, which saw them go 2 points clear of relegation rivals Tottenham Hotspur.

In her 16 year tenure at West Ham, Brady led the negotiations to secure the clubs move from Upton Park to the London Stadium in 2016.

Brady’s departure also sees the end of a 40 year business relationship with Chairman of West Ham David Sullivan after he first appointed her in 1993 at Birmingham.

“It has been a privilege to work alongside the Board, management, players, staff and supporters at West Ham United.” said Brady.

“While this chapter closes, my passion for football and commitment to supporting the next generation of leaders remains undiminished. I wish West Ham United every success for the future and look forward to following their continued achievements with pride.”

West Ham’s Premier League future remains up in the air with the club sitting in 17th, however Brady looks back reminiscing on their Conference league success just 3 years ago.

“Together we have achieved remarkable milestones, but the highlight for me will always be lifting the UEFA Europa Conference League trophy – a moment that will stay with me forever.”
