“WE’RE really pleased for Dylan,” said AFC Totton’s director of football Dave Wright after 17-year-old Dylan Andrews made his league debut in Saturday’s National League South game against Worthing.
“To see a 17-year-old come through and make his senior league debut is a proud moment for everyone at the club,” Wright added.
Andrews, who came on as a substitute, has progressed through the club’s pathway after featuring prominently in the under-23 side that won the title last season under Harry Brookwell. He was also named the team’s Manager’s Player of the Season.
The midfielder had previously made his senior debut earlier this campaign in the Hampshire Senior Cup against Eastleigh.

Wright said providing opportunities for younger players remains a key part of the club’s approach.
“It’s important that players within our system can see a route, believe in it, and then be given the chance when they’re ready,” he said.
“Since coming into the club, a big focus has been building an environment where young players can develop, progress, and step into senior football.”
He also highlighted the role of first-team manager Scott Rendell and coach Louis Langdown in supporting that pathway.
“That alignment is really important,” Wright said. “It allows us to give players like Dylan the right support and the confidence to step up.
“Now it’s about continuing to support him, keep him grounded, and ensure this is just the start of his journey.”
