Back-to-back wins for AFC Totton push the side into promotion contenders after a hard fought 1-0 win against Southern League Premier South strugglers Harrow Town.
In a weekend full of Cancelled games throughout the country due to poor weather conditions. Everyone involved was delighted when the referee deemed the pitch playable as 1,300 fans turned out to watch the stags come out victorious in freezing conditions.
In a game of very few chances for either side with Harrow providing a tough nut to crack as they looked to find a first win in 2024. The first half provided little entertainment for the fans who made the travel with both sides producing a snooze fest.
The Stags with results going their way this afternoon took the initiative early into the second half providing the more of the goal threat. Then a moment of brilliance from Totton was the difference on the day in the 58th minute with Talisman Scott Rendell turning provider as he found space to find Ethan Taylor with a majestic ball who then blasted home which turned out to be the winner for the stags.
This Win will make Totton fans dreaming as they look for back-to-back promotions as they currently occupy fifth place in the table. With their next game being at home to Dorchester town on Tuesday night. Whilst for the visitors Harrow the fans fear of relegation could be cemented by this defeat as they now sit eight points away from safety.
