Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta defends David Raya despite costly mistake against Lens who currently sit 15th on the Ligue 1 table.
The Spaniard started off the press conference saying : ” First of all congratulations to Lens, I think they are a really good side, we knew it was going to be a really tough match.”
One of the journalists would then ask if the Arsenal boss was disappointed in David Raya’s distribution tonight considering it is one of the reasons why he was brought into the club in which Arteta simply replied “no”.
He expanded on this by stating: “we know that he is one of the best in the country and that he was ready to play.”
Now Arsenal face Manchester City this Sunday, questions will be raised as to whether they will step up to the plate after today’s shocking performance.
