2026 NFL DRAFT PREVIEW: What does every team need to do – AFC WEST

WE are just two weeks away from the 2026 NFL Draft. So we will be analyzing every team’s needs, division by division. Today we are looking at the AFC West, which was led by the Denver Broncos in the 2025-2026 season.

LAS VEGAS RAIDERS-

The team with the number one pick, the Las Vegas Raiders should do the expected and pick California quarterback Fernando Mendoza. The rest of their draft should be focused on helping out the 22-year old, either with receivers of blockers. They also have holes on defense, but this is the time to get their offense set up for the future.

KANSAS CITY CHIEFS-

The Chiefs need is quite clear, the secondary is almost empty after this season so finding young replacements on defence is a must. Elsewhere finding some depth on the edge and at receiver would be nice, but the main focus needs to be on their secondary, if they want to get back to being a Superbowl contender.

LOS ANGELES CHARGERS-

The LA chargers have good talent all over the field, but in the playoffs their offensive line struggled, finding some more talent to help deep into the season would be the smartest move for the chargers at 22. They have a strong defense but their best three edge rushers, Tuli Tuipulotum Khalil Mack, and Bud Dupree all have one year left on their contracts so finding a long-term option would be smart later in the draft.

DENVER BRONCOS-

The Broncos don’t have a first round pick, and after coming just four points short of a playoff place, not having that pick might be what stops them from pushing up into the playoffs this season. Jaylen Waddle is a fantastic addition on offense, and is a great weapon for Bo Nix. The have yet to replace John Franklin-Myers on the defensive line and that will likely be the top priority for Denver when they finally get a chance to pick.
