Team GB celebrated their most successful Winter Olympics ever

Two gold medalists at the 2026 Winter Olympic Games.

FOR the first time, Team GB won 3 gold medals at a Winter Olympics. Matt Weston took home 2 of the golds.

In total Great Britain won 5 medals with a silver and a bronze each accompanying 3 golds.

2 golds were won in the skeleton event, with Matt Weston winning the men’s skeleton event and the mixed team event alongside Tabby Stoecker who won her first ever Olympic gold.

The other gold coming in snowboarding, Charlotte Bankes and Huw Nightingale won the medal in team snowboard cross event with a dramatic overtake from Bankes proving vital.

The silver came in the curling; the GB men were defeated in final by Canada who have had a controversial tournament. Kyle Waddell, Bobby Lammie, Hammy McMilan JR, Grant Hardie and Bruce Mouat were the GB athletes to pick up the silver medals.

Finally, the bronze came in freestyle skiing with Zoe Atkin taking the last medal for Team GB at the Milano Cortina games.

Super Sunday on the 9th day of the games will be remembered for years as that was the day that the golds for the mixed skeleton and the snowboarding cross event were won.

In 4 years’ time, GB will hope to beat their tally of 5 medals when they head to the French Alps.
