WEST Totton Wanderers travelled north but their Hampshire FA Sunday Vase Cup hopes went south as they tumbled out 4-1 to Basingstoke outift Hampshire Royals.

It was looking rosy for Wanderers as Ryan Rice’s goal took them into half-time with a 1-0 lead, but it all went pear-shaped in the second half as Royals ran in four unanswered goals.

Landguard Rovers were trailing 2-0 at half-time to Star Romsey in their Trophyman AJ Miler second round tie, but goals from Caesor Olla (2) and Iyaaz turned the tie on its head.

Cranbourne’s Craig Scott hit London Airways for six in their DR Ryder second round tie. Josh Carey added a single in a 7-0 drubbing of Airways.

All the first round ties in the Hampshire Press Charlie Godden Trophy turned out to be enjoyable away days.

A Tom Loades hat-trick and a single from Joe Strugnell earned Hamble United Sunday a 4-1 win at AFC Hiltingbury (Oliver Burroughs).

Ben Clarke’s winner for Wimpson edged a tight game at BTC Sunday Reds, but things were a little more comfortable for South Coast who won 7-2 at Montfort. Aiden Johnson and Marlon Mason both notched hat-tricks for South Coast with Mark Haynes weighing in with a single, Nathan Parr and Ashley White replied for Montfort.

Also wining on the road were Marchwood Rangers, who beat Compton 4-1 thanks to goals from Ryan Keating, Bard Raynsford, Lewis Crook and Shaun Masson.

Butlocks Heath made an ominous return to league action with a 7-2 win over AFC hutwood to leapfrog over them and into second place in Division One.

Goals from Clayd Roach (4), Owen Royl (2) and Sanchez McLean did the damage and took them to second place, two points behind Chamberlayne with four games in hand.

Chamberlayne did their best to keep Butlocks off with a stick with a 5-3 win over Embley Park, courtesy of goals from Harry Chivers (2), George Manning, Callum Fielder, and an og. Angus Marshall, Gurpal Lahkpuri and Zac Anderson replied for Embley.

Newton Heath are still looking for their first win of the season after goals from Ed Ditchburn and Alfie Hill gave Madeinheath a 3-2 win, with Ashley Nunn and Greg Ainsworth replying for Heath.

Langley Tavern still sit astride the top of Division Two after a 6-1 thumping of Millbrook Sunday Mens, thanks to goals from Josh Munro (2), Connor Munro, Ryan Clifford, James Willis and Kieran Roche.

AFC Shirle have games in hand and are keeping up the pressure after a 9-1 drubbing of Lyndhurst Sunday

Callum Parker and Harry Yeadon both notched doubles, with Morgan Callaway, Sam Downer, CraigHunt, Nehal Mehta and Harrison Vidler contributing singles.

Taylor O’Hare scored twice to clinch the points for AFC Riverside in a 2-1 win at Mottisfont (Matt Bosanquet).

George Fairless’s hat-trick underpinned Woolston T&L’s 4-0 win over Cottage which keeps them top of Division Three on goal difference, and who know that Harry Cook’s strike may prove the difference come the end of the season?

AFC Hythe (Jamie Cooley, Harrison Fay) edged AFC Netley Sunday (Jack Hutchings) 2-1 to remain deadlocked on points with Woolston but with a game in hand.

If you score five goals you might expect to win a game but not so for AFC Redbridge who leaked eight to Holly Hill Hawks.

Cameron Steel, Alex Azadegan, Thomas Kiel, James Brent and Lewis Fear did their goalscoring bit, only for doubles from Louis Baldacchino, Tom Kilroy and Craig Howells, supplemented by singles from Will Smith and Elliot Cox to rain on their parade.

Sporting Compass maintained their place at the top of Division Four with a 2-0 win which dented Spike Islander’s own title ambition. Luke Biffin and Alex Weir were on target for Compass.

Eastleigh Town have games in hand and knowing they cannot afford to drop any more points, carved out a 6-2 win over Solent United Reds. Steve Purkiss (2), Adam Swift, Charlie Smith, Daniel Page and Aaron Freemantle clinched the points, with Jamie Morgan and Lucas Hoven replying for Solent.

Joe Clarkson notched for Royale Marine, but goals from Adam Shepherd, Rich Williams, Aaron Cave and Shaun Evans clinched the points for Halfway Inn.

Monks Brook moved nine points clear at the top of Division Five as goals from Tom Ashton (4 )Harry Edmondson (2), Ryan Tarrant an Dan Strange delivered an a 8-1 spanking to Boorley Green (Ollie Shapland).

Goals from Iwan Croft, Jonathan Townsend and an own goal gave FC Phoenix a 3-2 win over Pavilion Panthers (Mike McDonald 2) while Unathletic Athletic(Jenson Harry, Liam Cummerson, Stefan Williams, Matt Hibberd)  clinched a 4-2 win over Wyvern Youth Athletic (James Gillespie, Makki Lahmich).

Netley Sunday Reserves continued their promotion push from Division Six with a 7-1 win over Burridge, courtesy of hat-tricks from Connor Brown and Callum Wookey, with Ben Poulter rounding off the scoring. Dave Middleton provided scant consolation for Burridge.

Linden Tree continued their relentless march towards the Division Seven title with a 3-1 win over Bishopstoke WMC, thanks to goals from Charlie Rattley (2) and Lee Stickland. Vinnie White replied for Bishopstoke.

Luke Smith notched all four for Bombay Boys in their 4-2 win over Wyvern Youth Saints (Shaun Bell, Jordan Curtis) while Ryan Hartley (2) and Lee Stickland did the business to earn Lyndhurst Reserves a 3-1 win over Newchester (Louis Cooper).

Bursledon United retained their place at the summit of Division Eight with a 7-0 thumping of AFC Southside. Josh Thompson-Piri and Nick Watts both notched doubles, with James Spratt, Owen Cox and Charlie Gordon rounding off the scoring.

Sam Webb, Brad Flooks and Jeffrey Akpotaire were Barleycorn A’s scorers in their 3-0 win over M&T Sunday, and Shane Reid scored twice in Holly Hill’s 2-0 win over AFC Eastleigh as none of the away teams managed a goal.
