There will be a Lego set for each F1 team for the first time ever

IT was announced earlier this year that Formula 1 and Lego had signed a multi year deal for the construction toy company to create sets for all 10 F1 teams.

The new models are all based on the designs and liveries that the cars have ran so far in the 2024 season.

This move by F1 has the possibility to branch out into a whole new fanbase and bring many new followers to the sport, including the younger generations.

The whole new Lego Formula 1 theme will have sets ranging from Lego Duplo, through Lego City, Speed Champions, and then all the way up to the lego Icon series so it covers all ages.

This isn’t the first move that F1 has made to connect more with a younger fan base though as they launched F1 Kids in the 2023 season.

The series was created to encourage more children to watch f1 and helps them to learn about the technical side of the cars in a more kid friendly way, the format was also continued into the 2024 season with coverage of seven of the 24 races.

F1 Kids also included animated versions of the drivers which reminded many older fans of the Tooned series that was made by McLaren in 2012 when they had a driver lineup of Lewis Hamilton and Jenson Button.

Many F1 fans with younger children will be very excited at the prospect of sharing their passion of Lego and Formula One with their children.

What are the new sets?

There will be 10 new additions to the Lego Speed Champions theme which will include one set for each team at a price point of £22.99 each.

the Lego Icons series will see a second F1 car as Nigel Mansell’s Williams FW14B has been converted into bricks to the same scale as last years Ayrton Senna McLaren MP4/4 set.

Ferrari have also taken the spotlight as they have the biggest set of the wave with their new SF-24 F1 car Lego Technic set which will cost £199.99.

Six Lego City sets have been made including a Mercedes and Alpine garage, a transport truck, and also a Lego Duplo kit will be brought out along side them for the really young ones.

All of the New F1 sets are due to come out in March 2025 which will be a big hit for Formula 1 and Lego and without doubt go down well with old and new fans.
