SOLENT men’s first team head into a winter break as they begin their preparations for the second half of the season.
They resume their campaign home to Hartpury second team on Wednesday 24th January as they aim to improve on recent results.
The side have only won two out of their seven games so far this season which have both come against Bristol University .
Ethan Madden’s side won their last game before the winter break last Wednesday, running out 6-1 winners away to Bristol’s second team.
Captain Sam Pearce believes Wednesday’s win will be a turning point for their season.
”I think Wednesday is the turning point, we seemed a lot more defensively solid after the first goal.
”Scoring six and creating a lot more, is a good positive note for us.”
”Everyone seems a lot happier in traning and in the group chats, and coach journey home.”
Sam Pearce, Solent Mens First Team Captain
Recent results mean that winning the league is out of reach for the side but Pearce believes the side can still finish in the top half.
”Winning the league is off the cards now, ideally mid-table, high end mid-table that would be ideal for us looking forward to next season.”
Sam Pearce
After a draw in the reverse fixture away to Hartpury, Solent will aim to go one better and pick up their third win of the season, aiming for a better second half of the season.
