TODAY Winchester City travel to Devon as they face Tiverton Town in the Southern League Premier Division South where they will be hoping to make it back to back wins after their win on Saturday.
City managed to get back to winning ways with a 2-1 victory on the weekend as they travelled to London to face Harrow Borough in league action who found themselves in good form heading into the match.
It was Olly Balmer who opened the scoring for the away side in the 20th minute with a finish into the bottom left corner after the ball fell to him inside the Boro penalty area.
Winchester doubled their lead as it was Balmer who managed to tap home from a Caborn cross in the 47th minute. Harrow managed to get one back five minutes later through Gurteen who managed to head home from the corner.
However, Tiverton have been unable to play for the past week as their previous two games have been postponed due to waterlogged pitches.
The Citizens’ currently sit 9th in the league on 43 points and only find themselves six points off of the play-off places with 12 games to go and with a win they can move up to 8th with a win.
‘Tivvy’ currently find themselves sitting 20th in the league, in the relegation places and just four points from safety. A win would mean they can climb a place to 19th and be one point behind Swindon Supermarine who are just outside the relegation zone.
The game is a rearranged fixture from Saturday the 10th of February, where the match was abandoned due to a waterlogged pitch.
Craig Davis’ side come into the game in decent form having picked up eight points from the last 15 available.
Town have picked up six points from the last 15 available and will be looking to get back on track after the most recent game was a 2-0 loss away at play-off chasing Walton & Hersham.
