TOTTENHAM Hotspur midfield maestro James Maddison has been forced to pull out of the latest England squad due to injury.
The 26-year-old will play no part in the Three Lions European Qualifiers against Malta and North Macedonia in a weeks time.
The ankle injury was picked up during Spurs’ shock humiliation to London rivals Chelsea on Monday night as the midfielder limped off early in the second half.
Maddison has been enjoying a perfect start to the season for his new club, scoring three goals and adding five assists in just eleven games since his move from Leicester City in June.
Although the former Norwich player is still yet to find the net for his country after making only five appearances in four years.
It is still unclear how long the midfielder will be sidelined for as his side travel to Molineux this Saturday as Spurs take on Wolves.
The Lilywhites currently sit second in the Premier League table on 26 points just one point behind leaders Manchester City.
