Southampton FC sporting director, Jason Wilcox has been rumoured for a big move to premier league giants Manchester United.
Following the saints recent run of form, just having their 24 game unbeaten run snapped by Bristol City.
Southampton getting relegated last season left Wilcox with a task of getting them back into the premier league.
Fans of the saints think he is obliged to get them back into the top division before leaving.
Bolton born Wilcox is competing against Newcastle’s Dan Ashworth for a shot at a role within the red devils staff board.
However with United recently being 25% bought by INEOS there is potential for Ashworth and Wilcox to work together.
This would boost the chances of success for the struggling Manchester side, strengthening their club in ways they haven’t done since the loss of Sir Alex Ferguson.
During his time at Manchester City, working with their development squad and youth teams, Jason Wilcox helped produce players like Phil Foden, Cole Palmer and Rico Lewis.
Therefore plans for both sporting directors looks promising if United really push to make it happen.
