SOLENT RedHawks battled out their final game of the season against Chichester Spitfires as they say goodbye to the third-year recruits.
The RedHawks season didn’t go as they may have wanted, with their sights set on promotion at the start of the season to not make the play offs would have been seen as a major disappointment for the RedHawks.
With so much promise going into the new season after the new recruitment and a great preseason, falling so short of their target will be seen as a major failure and can cause somewhat disappointment for the coaches as well as the players, none more than the departing third-year students who would have seen this as an opportunity to go out with a bang.
However, despite the feeling of disappointment due to their season, the RedHawks ensured that players who wore the jersey for the final time received the best send-off they could get.
Using their three years of experience, the third year students ensured that their final game didn’t end with defeat after beating the Spitfires 21-7 with third year student and running back Sam Adesanya leaving his mark at the Solent RedHawks forever with two touchdowns in his final game.
With another season over, it’s now time to reflect and understand mistakes that may have cost the RedHawks this season but with no doubt they will be looking into the new season with optimism and excitement to finally break that Barrier and make it into Division 1.
