BRIGHTON have confirmed Japanese midfielder Kauro Mitoma has signed an extension with the club until 2027.
Mitoma has started this season very brightly having 7 goals and assists in all competitions with 3 goals and 3 assists in the Premier League.
Japanese trickster has been at Brighton since 2021 joining from Belgium side Royal Union Saint-Gilloise, Mitoma’s form in 2022 saw him winning a major individual award in Japan as he was awarded the most valuable player in Japan, while he also won the August goal of the month for this season in the Premier League.
Seagulls boss Roberto De Zerbi was delighted with the news of the new deal for Kaoru Mitoma The Italian said ” It’s great news. Kaoru is our top player.”
Brighton technical director David Weir was happy to the negotiations wrapped as he said ” I have no doubt our supporters will be delighted with the news.”
Kaoru adapted to the Premier League last season and has quickly become one of our most important players.”
“His success is also a reflection of the work of the departments that have played a role in his recruitment, helped him gain important experience on loan and ultimately become a big part of Roberto’s first team group.”
