Another week goes on and another week full of boxing talent all over the world.
From mid week action all the way down to some dust ups in Britain on Saturday night.
Stars were born this week and here’s how.
Top Rank Card–
Teofimo Lopez beat Jermaine Ortiz by Unanimous decision.
The decision has come under fire from boxing fans after it looked like Ortiz had dominated proceedings.
This isn’t the first time Lopez has been under fire about judges decisions, his two previous fights with Josh Kelly and Sandor Martin both were controversial.
Despite the controversial decision Lopez seemed unbothered imminently going to the side of the ring exchanging words with Keyshawn Davis.
Lopez held his belt up high shouting angrily at Davis.
Keyshawn Davis and Lopez have had a few words throughout the weeks press conference.
Davis fought on the undercard winning by dominant TKO.
Then choosing to call out Lopez in his post fight speech.
“Teofimo been doing a lot of talking, get this win tonight, lets set this up ill come straight to 140”
He also had some politer words to say about Emanuel Navarrate, WBO World Super Featherweight champion, saying “it would be a honour to get in the ring with you at 135”
Whichever fight gets made Keyshawn has made a name for himself this week and stole the show from the “Showman” himself.
Queensbury card-
Hamzah Sheeraz stops Liam Williams in a single round.
Sheeraz makes a huge statement by demolishing the experienced Williams.
After two knockdowns from Sheeraz it looked like Williams wouldn’t finish the round and after a third knockdown, the towel was thrown in by the corner.
The Slough born boxer is now officially a star in the ring, ranked number 4 by the WBC going into this fight.
It doesn’t look like it will be a longtime before we see Sheeraz competing for world titles.
Frank warren post fight said “A great British dustup would be Chris Eubank Jr”
Eubank Jr now seems lost for a opponent after failing to make a fight with Connor Benn could this be the fight to make, either way the Middleweight division is now on notice.
Sam Noakes wins the British Lightweight title after a round 4 stoppage of Lewis Sylvester.
Noakes knocked down Sylvester twice in round 3 with two massive body hooks.
He then kept the pace on by finishing Sylvester the following round.
A first loss on Sylvester’s record and a 13th straight KO for Noakes who will look to move up in the lightweight division.
The Maidstone fighter will now keep a keen eye on Gavin Gwynne and Mark Chamberlain to see whether either one could be in his future.
Anthony Yarde puts on a punch perfect performance with a TKO of the very game, Nikolic.
Yarde knocked Nikolic down in the 2nd and the 3rd before the referee stopped the fight.
Joshua Buatsi was watching on the sidelines as he looks to fight Yarde next.
Both met up in a post fight interview and respectfully spoke about there want to come up against each other.
Karol Itauma, brother of Moses, won via points in his fight vs Eros Seghetti.
Tommy Fletcher also got himself a massive stoppage in his fight after opponent, Alvaro Terrero, had a nose injury which the doctor concluded he shouldn’t carry on.
Special shoutout to Masoud Abdulah who put on a absolute boxing show battering and eventually finishing Qais Ashfaq in round 5.
Well worth a watch of the highlights of this one as Abdulah knocked down Ashfaq a number of times before the referee called a stop to the contest.
NXTGEN Matchroom card-
Reece Belloti and Liam Dillion put on a warriors performance on the top of the Matchroom card.
Belloti edged a close fight by Unanimous decision winning the British Super Featherweight title.
Both fighters barely touched the edge of the ring being massively game to go toe to toe.
Belotti coming forward at every big shot that Dillion put on him especially early in the rounds when Dillion was getting the better of the exchanges.
But Belloti came firing back late in the rounds to fight back and send the fight to a decision.
Cameron Vuong vs Jordan Flynn is official for April 13th after Vuong won a comfortable unanimous decision.
The both exchanged words after the fight head to head and even had a push from the two.
That fight will be on the undercard of Zelfa Barret and Jordan Gill.
Craig Richards with a huge knockout of Boris Crighton.
Two thunderous overhands ended it all in his first outing since changing training camps from the Matchroom gym to Shane McGuigan.
Eddie Hearn says he wants Anthony Yarde for Craig Richards next (which is what I chose in my fantasy matchup for the Queensbury vs Matchroom card).
John Hedges early on the card also got a knockout to go to 9-0-0.
