Al Hilal are on Cloud Nine after dominant victory over Al Fateh

AL Hilal comfortably beat Al Fateh 9-0 on Thursday night at Kingdom Arena in what proved to be a great advert for Al Hilal’s title defence.

Despite the heavy score it was the visitors who started the first 20 minutes best and it looked like they would be rewarding the 600 Ultras who had travelled to Riyadh. But it isn’t to be as Koulibaly headed home from a corner to open the scoring.

And from that moment onwards Al Fateh were down and out. Lodi’s low driven shot found the bottom right corner in the 38th minute and Hilals momentum was building. A Leonardo penalty made it 3 in the 46’ minute and Savic made it 4-0 in the 49th Minute.

Al Fateh were collapsing and half time didn’t help with Leonardo getting his brace in the 54th minute with an excellent bit of passing between himself and Salem Al Dosari before he rolled the ball in from the edge of the box.

Leonardo completed his first Al Hilal hat trick with a smart header from a delightful Neves free kick. Hamadan made it 7 to Hilal in the 88th minute with Al Fateh desperately trying to control the damage.

The 4th official showed no mercy by adding on 11 minutes because of a long medical delay, and Malcom didn’t let the extra time go to waste adding the 8th in the 94th minute.

Al Fatehs afternoon got even worse when Abdulwahed headed a cross into his own net. Aljari was sent off in the dying seconds as he tried to protect his sides dignity denying Malcom a 1 on 1 with the goalkeeper for number 10.

Al Fateh have been struggling this season and this result cemented that, on the contrary Al Hilal look to be thriving and will be looking for League Title this season.
