Tuchel for School prepare for their first league match

A brand new 5-a-side team are preparing for their first league match next week over at Goals Southampton.

Having completed their two trial matches, Tuchel for School have been placed in Division 4 of the Southampton Goals leagues.

The newly formed team have had a testing start to life after facing two teams from the top of Division 2 in their trial matches.

Despite suffering narrow losses in both matches, the team have shown promising signs as the players continue to gel and adapt to the fast-paced nature of 5-a-side football.

After their narrow defeat in their final trial match last night, club founder, Toby Lawless is still optimistic for the season ahead despite back-to-back losses.

“We were beaten by physicality rather than skill and losses like that are always tough to take but there’s been lots of improvement [over the first two games] ahead of the next season.”

Despite perhaps struggling defensively over their first two games, one thing the players of Tuchel for School have not found difficulty with is finding the back of the net.

Top scorer Evan Dummett highlights the physical nature of 5-a-side football as the team look to bounce back next week.

“I thought we were the better team, they were quite an upfront, quite a rough team.

“I thought we played really well, bonded as a team and long may that continue into next season.”

With their trial matches behind them, Tuchel for School, are now looking ahead to their Division 4 league debut against Twinkle United.
