Manchester United stars show frustration with club’s hierarchy after latest defeat

MICHAEL Carrick’s men saw themselves extend their poor start to the season as the Red Devils were beaten 2-0 by Atletico Madrid at the Metropolitano stadium.

After just two wins in their first nine games, this is United’s worst start to the season in 40 years, with some of their players expressing their emotions after last night’s defeat.

World Cup winner Lisandro Martinez launched a scathing attack on the club’s board in his post-match interview, saying that he “expected more” signings in the summer transfer window.

The central defender also added: “I expect more from our technical director [Jason Wilcox].

“I have to be honest as players we have to do more but it is also important when you make a strong squad to be ready for this kind of night.”

Man United only had three first team arrivals in the summer transfer window; Youri Tielemans, Andrey Santos and Carlos Baleba – all of which have made slow starts to the season with Baleba making his Red Devils debut on the weekend.

The club saw striker Rasmus Hojland depart for Napoli with veteran Casemiro, Jadon Sancho and Tyrell Malacia leave Manchester for free.

Ivory Coast international Amad Diallo also expressed his anger with the clubs recent performances and with the board as he took his opinions to Snapchat.

The winger posted his thoughts on the social media platform as he wrote: “F*cking disgrace; I have no words”.

The Red Devils travel to Eland Road this Sunday in the Premier League with hopes of reversing their fortune and gaining some much needed points.
