Oliver Sykes: The Newest Snooker Pro From Hampshire

Oliver Sykes has become the latest Snooker Pro from Hampshire after qualifying for the next two years of the Snooker Pro tour after reaching the final of the European Championships.

Sykes has been playing since he was eight years-old at Chandler’s Ford Snooker Club in Eastleigh, the same club who have produced other Snooker talents such as Suzie Opacic and Billy Castle and Jamie Wilson.

On his way to turning pro, Sykes beat 54th ranked in the world, Lyu Haotian in the World Championship second qualifying round, with an astonishing break of 146 break.

This gives 20 year-old Sykes the chance to test himself against the best, something he hopes to do for many years to come.

Daniel Farmer visited Ronnie at his Snooker Club in Chandler’s Ford to speak to Sykes.
