Does Harry Kane Deserve The Ballon d’Or?

HARRY Kane is having one of, if not his best season so far in his footballing career, but has he done enough for the Ballon d’Or?

The English striker has 50 goals in all competitions this season for Bayern Munich, and likely more at the time of you reading this.

He is the bookies’ favourite for the most prestigious award in football, which may have lost some credibility over the last few years with fans left disappointed at the winners.

Kanes’ Bayern Munich have just won their 35th Bundesliga title, with Kane netting 32 goals and providing five assists.

Elsewhere, Kylian Mbappe, playing in the Spanish La Liga, and Paris Saint Germain’s Ousmane Dembele are potential winners as well.

The two Frenchmen have put up impressive numbers in their respective leagues, leaving this as one of the most open Ballon d’Or debates ever.

Gone are the days of the Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo duopoly. The Ballon d’Or is as competetive as ever.

Many believe that England’s World Cup campaign this summer in North America will make or break Kanes chances.

If England are to disappoint, with Kane providing no evidence on the worlds stage, the debates may be over so there is a lot lying on his campaign in a few months time.
