CHELSEA legend John Terry is part of a consortium that is looking to purchase Colchester United FC for £14 Million.
The U’s sit 13th in League Two for their 10th consecutive season in the division with 60 points.
The club has been for sale since the first half of 2025 with a take over from consortium Sports Alpha Capital, including fellow former Chelsea player Alexandre Pato, falling threw in February.

The potential takeover has sparked both excitement and apprehension amongst Colchester fans.
We have seen many football clubs suffer at the hand’s of bad ownership but with a football man like John Terry being a prominent face of the consortium some worries will be eased.
Looking at the potential upside of the new owners it will be hard not to be hopeful with Colchester not experiencing a promotion since 2006.
The club will be hoping the notoriety of Terry can replicate the success that Ryan Reynolds has had at Wrexham.
Wrexham were able to create record revenues with their prominent owners outlaying that notable owners are not just a injection of cash but potentially revenue.
Celebrity owners seem to be the newest trend in English football with Tom Brady at Birmingham, KSI at Dagenham and Redbridge and Ryan Reynolds at Wrexham.
