2026 NFL DRAFT PREVIEW: What does every team need to do – NFC NORTH

WE are just two weeks away from the 2026 NFL Draft. So we will be analyzing every team’s needs, division by division. Today we are looking at the NFC North, which was led by the Chicago Bears in the 2025-2026 season.

DETROIT LIONS-

After parting ways with Taylor Decker, the Lions will be desperate to find a replacement at left tackle as soon as possible, finding one at 17 isn’t ideal but without a solid blocker, Jared Goff will struggle under the pressure. Defensively, Aiden Hutchinson needs some help with rushing the quarterback, some more depth will be needed if Detroit want to push forward and biome a top contender.

MINNESOTA VIKINGS-

The Minnesota Vikings will be looking to find talent for their defensive line, which has been left barren after the departures of both Jonathan Allen and Jason Hargrave. The viking also need to look at getting an option at safety, as Harrison Smith is potentially heading for retirement. Ryan Kelley has already announced that he will be retiring, so finding a replacement at center should be on the mind of the Minnesota staff.

GREEN BAY PACKERS-

The Packers don’t have a first round draft pick, but they don’t have any glaring holes that would need to be filled with one. This will likely be a draft all about depth, finding a replacement for Rashan Gary for the edge will likely be a priority, as well as some depth to cover for Micah Parsons, who is recovering from an ACL tear. Jason Hargrave has joined the defensive line, but at 33 years old, a younger option would be ideal to get for the long-term.

CHICAGO BEARS-

Safety is the biggest hole for the Chicago Bears. A replacement for Jaquan Brisker would be smart if an option is still on the board at 25. Ozzy Trapilo is set to return from injury, so finding a left tackle to help relieve his recovery would be a good option if a safety isn’t left. DJ Moore’s departure to the Bills has opened up the Wide receiver spot, and adding some competition for that spot could be a good move later on in the draft.
