JANNIK Sinner has broken yet another record in his already extraordinary early tennis career, this time taking a record off Novak Djokovic.

The current world number two has won the most consecutive sets in ATP Masters 1000 events history, accomplishing the achievement against Corentin Moutet at the Miami Open.

The Italian international defeated his French opponent 6-1 6-4 in the Round of 32, with the match only lasting 71 minutes.

Djokovic had previously held the record for 10 years, highlighting the significance of Sinner’s triumph.

Sinner has been in blistering form of late winning the last two Masters 1000 events, beating Daniil Medvedev in the Indian Wells final and Felix Auger-Aliassime in the Paris final.

With world number one Carlos Alcaraz being dumped out of the tournament at the hands of Sebastian Korda, the world number two will feel confident he can make it three successive Masters 1000 titles.

If the Italian superstar could get across the line in Miami, he would be the first player since Roger Federer to win the ‘Sunshine Double’ which consists of winning the Indian Wells and Miami Open back-to-back.

Sinner will face Alex Michelsen in the Round of 16 as the American knocked out Alejandro Tabilo 3-6 6-3 6-4 in the previous stage of the competition.
