OFF the back of retaining his UK Open title with a 11-7 win over James Wade, Luke Littler is one step closer to achieving the incredible feat of winning every major PDC ranking title in the PDC calendar year.
The two-time, and reigning World Champion added his win in Minehead to the trophies he has already lifted in 2026, being the World Darts Championship and World Masters.
Such has been the 19-year-old’s dominance, the only major PDC ranking titles he isn’t the current holder of is the European Championship, and Premier League, which he already won in 2024, which is in the possession of the man who many see as the man who will challenge Littler the most as the years progress, Gian Van Veen.
This is because when the other majors of the World Championship, World Matchplay, Grand Slam of Darts, and World Grand Prix come around, Littler will be the reigning and defending champion.
After falling to defeat by Luke Humphries in the 2025 Premier League Final, Littler started the period to prove he was still the best in the world all over again, done in part due to him already having become the youngest world champion ever when he beat Michael Van Gerwen, and he did that in some fashion.
First up after the Premier League, was the World Matchplay at the Winter Gardens in Blackpool, where it was Wade again, who was beaten in the final, despite starting the game better.
When the dust settled, it was Littler that had come away with an 18-13 victory to begin his domination for the rest of the year.
Three months later, in October, he made his way down south to Leicester and took home the title of World Grand Prix winner, once more defeating Humphries, this time by a crushing scoreline of six legs to one.
Littler then arrived in Wolverhampton, and put the disappointment of losing out at the European Championship by winning the Grand Slam of Darts, courtesy of another victory against the other Luke, on this occasion, by 16-11.
He also picked up the Players Championship to round out an incredible 2025.
Littler would be the favourite for the Premier League and European Championship this year, and if he comes through on both and retains all his other titles, he will hold a vice grip over the game of arrows.
