World Cup manager steps down months before tournament.

CURACAO manager Dick Advocaat has stood down from his role due to personal reasons.

The nation ranked 81st in the world will have a new head coach for the World Cup warm-up fixture against Scotland on May 30th.

Advocaat will be replaced by fellow Dutchman Fred Rutten for the tournament this summer, after the former Rangers boss guided the Carribean nation to their first finals.

78 would have made Advocaat the oldest coach in world cup finals history.

After spanning four decades, leading the the population of roughly 150,000 people to the grandest stage of the all will go down as his greatest achievement in the game.

Unfortunately due to his daughters health his path to the USA is curtailed.

Spending two years as head coach of the island nation, he managed to go six games unbeaten and reaching the finals by topping their CONCACAF qualifying group ahead of Jamaica.

Curacao’s warm-up game against scotland will take place at Hampden park in Glasgow.

Steve clarke’s Scots entertain Japan and Ivory coast prior to them welcoming the Caribbean nation.

Fred Ruttens side will begin the tournament against former multiple time world champions as recently as 2014 Germany in group E.

Also in the group Ivory coast and Ecuador.
