American Football is becoming increasingly more popular each year, with additions of the NFL (National Football League) creating academies across the world and one at Loughborough University.

These are the best teams ranked by wins and losses from the past five years in BUCS (British University and College Sports).

5 – Leeds Beckett University (21-14)

At number five is Leeds Beckett University with a record of 21-14, they are currently competing at the highest level of BUCS American Football (National Premiership) and has never won a national championship.

4 – Bournemouth University (34-6)

At number four is Bournemouth University Bobcats with a record of 34-6, they are currently competing at the BUCS division one level. The team won division two in 2021 and has made every division one playoff since they arrived, also they have been undefeated in BUCS South Western 1 conference for the past 3 years straight.

3 – Nottingham University Gold (34-8)

Coming in at number 3 is Nottingham University’s Gold team with a record of 34-8. Notts are competing at the National Premiership level which is the highest conference in England alongside fellow contenders Leeds Beckett University. Nottingham has made the finals three out of four times but came up short each time.

2 – SGS Pride American Football (36-6)

Second place is SGS Pride with a record of 36-6. They play in the Southern Premiership and won the Division one championship in 2021 alongside being last years Premiership National Champions. Currently SGS is second place and looking to make it back to the playoffs for the third consecutive year.

1 – University West of England Bullets (41-1)

The best team in BUCS is the UWE Bullets with a record of 41-1. They are competing at the National Premiership level alongside Leeds Beckett University and Nottingham University Gold and has won the last four National Championships in a row. Currently the Bullets are looking to make it five in a row following on from their impressive history run.
