AFC TOTTON manager, Jimmy Ball reached 200 games in management after The Stags’ defeat against Slough Town on the 25th of November, and his stats are STAGGERING!
In 200 games, Ball has 127 victories to his name, with a further 36 draws and he has only lost 37 GAMES. To put that into perspective, that’s a 63.5% win percentage for the Totton boss and a points per game of 2.09!

All this whilst running a sustainable model at the Hampshire based-club, taking them up two leagues by achieving the Southern League Division One title and promotion via the playoffs last season in the Southern League Premier Division South!
He has also made history winning 3x Southampton Senior Cups, making Totton the FIRST team to win three back-to-back, as well as a Champion of Champions trophy back in 22/23!
But where would his win percentage rank him amongst the Premier League’s greatest managers who have maanged over 200 games? Let’s dive in!
1 – PEP GUARDIOLA – 71.5%
Pep Guardiola is the MOST SUCCESSFUL boss in Premier League history based on win percentage with 71.5%!
He has been in charge of just one team in the Premier Legaue, that being Manchester City, where he has been at the reigns since the 1st of February 2016!
In that time, he has coached 254 wins, 50 draws and 51 losses in 355 matches which leaves him at the top of the tree in terms of Premier League managers with thebest win percentage.
To go with the amazing stats, he has won 6 Premier League titles, as well as 8 domestic cups in England as well as a Champions League at The Citizens!
2 – SIR ALEX FERGUSON – 65.2%
The man at number two needs no explanation, if you’ve heard of football you’ve heard of this man… SIR ALEX FERGUSON!
Many regard Sir Alex as the best and most successful manager to ever grace the Premier League, and even in the world as he has a record number of Prem titles with 13 as well as 5 FA Cups and 4 league titles to go with his 2 Champions Leagues and much more!
However, in terms of win percentage, which is what this article is about, Sir Alex only ranks second, behind Pep…
3 – JURGEN KLOPP – 62.6%
Jurgen Klopp qualifies for this list, having been in charge of Liverpool for 334 games and boasting a win percentage of 62.6%!
In those 334 games, Klopp won 209 games, drew 78 and lost 47, and was hailed for rebuilding Liverpool who were in limbo when he took over, and for handling the finances well, consistently being lower than his rivals in net spend!
Klopp may not have had the trophies that the two before him have won, but he definitely has the stats to eb a top three manager in the Premier League!
Interestingly, this is the first manager that has a lower win percentage than Jimmy Ball…
4 – JOSE MOURINHO – 59.9%
‘The Special One’ enters this list at number four with a 59.9% win percentage!
He is also the only manager on this list to have managed more than one club in the Premier League (Chelsea & Spurs)
Between those two clubs, his record is 217 wins, 84 draws, and 61 losses in a span of 362 matches. His best and most renowned spell was at Chelsea, where he achieved three Premier League titles, three Leagues cups, and an FA Cup!
Although he didn’t win anything at Tottenham, he still did well enough to maintain 4th position on this list.
5 – MIKEL ARTETA – 59.4%
The final manager on this list is Mikel Arteta with his 59.4% win percentage and in the 224 matches he has managed, he has won 133, drew 44, and lost 47.
Arteta became manager of Arsenal in December of 2019, and spent his first few years guiding Arsenal through their transition period after struggles since Wenger left.
With a team that was known at the time as average, Arteta did manage to pick up an FA Cup as well as a Community Shield in 2020.
Once he assembled his squad, signing the likes of William Saliba, Gabriel and many more who have been key to his successes, he has brought Arsenal back up to the top of the league as he and Arsenal look favourites to go on and win their first title since 2003/04.
So, back to comparing Jimmy Ball to the top five managers in the Premier League sorted by their win percentage who have been in charge of over 200 games, Ball would rank third.
He has definitely cemented himself as an AFC TOTTON LEGEND!
