Fulham Fallout: Spurs draw up shortlist of Postecoglou replacements

Ange Postecoglou claps the home fans after the Aston Villa game.

AFTER a 2-0 defeat to Fulham this weekend, pressure is once again heating up on Spurs boss Ange Postecoglou.

With the Aussie’s time in North London running out it’s being reported that Tottenham have drawn up a three-man short list of possible replacements:

Andoni Iraola.

It’s reported that the Spaniard sits top of the list, of possible replacements should the Lilywhites hand ‘Big Ange’ his p45

After an impressive campaign Iraola has led Bournemouth into European contention having coached the south coast side to their best Premier League season ever.

The Spaniards, fast pace, high energy and aggressive style of football would undoubtedly be attractive to those on the white side on North London.

However, Iraola’s cherries have been at the best when underdogs and have become masters at winning whilst having less of the ball.

A far cry from the pass heavy system of Postecoglou. Ange has built squad to fit his very particular, style a squad far from the current profile that exists at the vitality.

Nevertheless, the prospect of a move to London alongside a hike in wages would be very tempting…

Marco Silva.

Second on the list, having just beat Tottenham 2-0 this weekend, is Marco Silva.

This is a Spurs appointment if I have ever seen one. An intriguing risk with little expectation but if done well high reward.

Silva’s Fulham sit six places above Spurs, on 45 points after their win on Sunday. 11 points more than the other white team from London.

Silva’s current deal in West London has 15 months to run and expires in 2026.

Thomas Frank.

The third man on the list is the Premier League’s second longest serving manager.

Bees boss Frank has been in charge since 2017 and over the course of his tenure Brentford have established themselves as an assured Premier League outfit.

This term Brentford have been up and down, and questions remain around the Danes ability to succeed outside the safety of the GTECH Community Stadium.
