WARREN GATLAND has left his position as Wales head coach two years after returning to the role.
The 61 year old originally oversaw the Welsh Rugby team for twelve years between 2007-2019.
He then returned three years later in 2022 making him the longest serving head coach in the Welsh Rugby Union’s history.
But 14 losses in a row including their most recent loss to Italy in the Six Nations saw the second stint in charge come to an end.
His original stint saw Wales win four Six Nations with three of those being grand slams.
Speaking on the Welsh Rugby website, its CEO Abi Tierney said:
“The WRU and Warren have agreed that making this change now is in the best interests of the Wales squad as it continues to compete in the 2025 Six Nations tournament.
“We are grateful to Warren for all he has done for the game in Wales. He remains our longest-serving and most decorated head coach in terms of the silverware he has won.”
