Thrilling AC Milan comeback wins the EA Sports FC Supercup

AC Milan came from behind to beat Inter Milan 3-2 in the 90th minute in what was a enthralling match at Al Awaal Park.

An outstanding pre-match display in the stadium was met by a brilliant match. Inter dominated the first 20 minutes and came close to scoring when De Marco’s shot from the edge of the box was smartly saved by Maignan.

The first half was littered with clumsy and late challenges none more so than Morata, who was a luck boy that the referee seemingly left his cards in the dressing room before the game.

On the stroke of half time Inters pressure finally paid off when Martinez squeezed a shot in at the near post to give Inter the lead going into half time.

AC Milan looked to start the second half brightly to get back into the game, however a brilliant long ball from De Vrij to Taremi doubled Inters lead in the 47th minute.

AC Milan looked lost and all but out when Leao was subbed on in the 50th minute, but the change proved pivotal in the game. Leao winning a free kick on the edge of the area which was converted cleverly by Hernandez.

As AC Milan battled on they should have equalised when Reijnders shot was blocked brilliantly by Bastoni on the line.

AC Milan did get their deserved equaliser in the 80th minute, when the ball was cut back across the box to the waiting Pulisic who’s first touch was sublime before coolly slotting the ball into the far corner.

Inter Milan should have gone ahead when Dumfries found himself one on one with Maignan but his shot was straight at the keeper and was comfortably saved.

Inter would go on to regret their missed chance as in the 3rd minute of added time Tammy Abraham latched onto a cut back from Leao to win the game and complete the comeback for AC Milan.
