CHAMPIONSHIP action tonight as it’s as exciting as ever. Leicester City will be relegated to League 1 tonight if they fail to win against sixth place Hull City who will be looking to rectify their worst form of the season so far.
Having been relegated from the Premier League last season Leicester had looked like early favourites for promotion however things have not gone the Foxes’ way this season.
Leicester have gone through three managers this season their latest manager, Gary Rowett, has failed to stop their depressing decline down the table, with the real threat of a back-to-back relegation on the table.
Hull looked destined to go down to League 1 last season however a remarkable last day of the season saw them survive the drop on goal difference. The Tigers went on to sack their manager Rubén Sellés following survival replacing him with the Bosnian Sergei Jakirovic.
A season long transfer embargo was placed on the club in the summer and the bookies had Hull as one of the favourites for the drop, but Jakirovic’s side have surprised everyone in the division and currently sit in 6th place on 69 points with three games to go.
Recent Form:
Leicester City: L D D D L L
Hull City: L W D D L D
Team News:
Leicester have come away from their game against Portsmouth without any further injuries. However Rowett’s side are currently without the defensive trio of Ben Nelson, Caleb Okoli and Victor Kristiansen
Jordan James has returned to the squad following his recent injury and will look to be the spark who gets the Foxes back to life.
The visitors will be feeling lucky that they have managed to finally go a game in the Championship without any injuries or suspensions.
John Lundstram is back following his suspension and Eliot Matazo has returned to full fitness following an extended spell out injured.
Prediction:
This will be an entertaining game with both sides playing for something. Hull’s recent form has been troubling, however I feel that they have the quality to get the job done tonight.
Leicester City 1 – 3 Hull City
