Rooster walks out as Robins descend into chaos

AS if things weren’t already bad enough down at Cheltenham Town this season, assistant manager Kevin Russell has walked away from the club.

Russell, also nicknamed as “Rooster” hasn’t had the easiest ride this season, having taken the role of interim manager following Wade Elliot’s departure earlier this campaign.

Surprisingly, Russell’s withdrawal from the club wasn’t until the Robins notched their first goal of the season, following Saturdays 1-1 draw against Derby County.

Darrell Clarke, who is currently manager of the West Country team now faces a huge challenge.

Cheltenham Town sit 24th placed in League One after only collecting two points thus far, with one goal scored all season.

The Robins are also bottom of their group in the EFL Trophy, losing both two games.
