Manchester City manager Enzo Maresca makes welcoming comments as he answered question regarding weather he would have joined the club if the verdict had been released earlier.
“I know the organisation from years ago. I know how serious they are . i Know they do the right things.”
The 46-year-old Italian confirmed that no talks over how the verdict would turn-out when in talks with his appointment at the club.
“No, we didn’t speak about that. I didn’t think that was a problem for the club at the time.”
“I think they are convinced that in the end we will win the appeal.”
Maresca has full trust and confidence in the club claiming that was the reason he joined the club.
If the club were to be relegated subsequent to the verdict there is not another club in the world that Maresca would like to be. Stating to be very happy and proud to be on the blue side of Manchester.
When responding to the question “Do Pep’s achievements look different?”
“Absolutely not. The last time I was here was the treble season. I know the effort from the players, the club, the manager, I know the effort the club put to achieve that target.”
After being asked if he would step down if the club had lied to him Maresca refused to answer instead he would speak about it after they win the appeal.
“This is the noise.” Maresca says that the players should ignore the background noise and focus on what the best they can do on the pitch.
“For me, the players, can just control the football. We are focused on that. That’s what we can control.”
Sundays game against Liverpool away at Anfield is shaping up to be a true heavy weight clash.
“It will be a tough game for sure, tough test. We need to be ready. The focus has to be the game, but we know the environment in Anfield is nice. It will probably be even worse because of the situation. It will be our duty to do our best and win the game.”
“We can face the pressure. We have players who played in a similar situation. Enzo Fernandez played in Argentina, it’s always every game like going to Anfield. It’s not a problem.”
