Premier League leaders Manchester City face Liverpool as they look to build on their three point lead on Champions, Arsenal.

After what has been an eventful international break for Man City centered around the club being found guilty of 114 charges of breaching Premier League financial regelations by an independent commission they head to Anfield to face Liverpool.

Following the verdict, Liverpool fans are sure to give the Citizens a rough reception, especially considering the Reds may have lost out on trophies during the seasons City were found guilty for breaking rules.

During the time period that these breaches happened, Liverpool finished second to City three times as well as a League Cup in the 2015-16 season as well.

Liverpool manager Iraola spoke on expectations for the fixture this weekend and how he sees what is a huge game for this seasons title race.

“We’ve been unbeaten but they’ve won all of them, so it makes a big difference in their side.

I think we need to be very, very good if we want to beat City because they’ve been especially offensively scoring a lot of goals lately.

We know the names that are very dangerous.

But I think also we’ve shown good defensive improvements lately and I hope we can defend the threats that they have and also hurt them on the other side.”

Going into the heated fixture this Sunday, City have won all five Premier League fixtures so far while Iraola’s men are unbeaten but have drawn three games so far.

The Citizens have also won the last three fixtures against Liverpool including a victory at Anfield that ended 2-1 thanks to a last minute Erling Haaland penalty.

Both sides hail strikers that are on electric form at the start of the season, City with Haaland who has won the golden boot three times and Liverpool with Alexander Isak who has started his campaign with 4 goals.

Despite a difficult fixture at a famously scary stadium waiting for them after an eventful international break for the club, Enzo Maresca and his men look to ignore the noise and carry on their momentum.

“They know their profession and they know that the noise is there but they don’t care too much about the noise.

They are just focused in this moment on how we can bear Liverpool and how, together with the fans, we can try to win in Anfield.”
