The Turin side looks to pull the trigger and sign two top Premier League stars this summer in a bid to reinstate themselves as Italian giants.
The names in question are Manchester City’s Bernardo Silva, whose contract ends this summer, and Liverpool’s Alisson Becker.
For some time now, Juventus have been a mere shell of their former self, with the generation of your Bonnucis, Chiellinis and Buffons long gone.
Its been a while since Juventus have made a true statement signing, with the last standout purchase (aside from the smart acquisition of Bayern Munich’s Kenan Yildiz in 2022) being Cristiano Ronaldo in the summer of 2018.
Since then, Juventus has declined dramatically, losing its status as a Champions League regular and an Italian behemoth.
Ambitious signings such as those aforementioned in Bernardo Silva and Alisson Becker represent serious improvements to the Old Lady’s squad.
Silva’s tenacity and magnificent versatility in the midfield and attacking positions, combined with a wealth of league winning experience immediately elevates the attacking third, bringing the exact quality and mentality that a team like Juventus is clearly currently missing.
And a goalkeeper of Alisson’s stature and quality would surely see him return to the Serie A – after his time at AS Roma before joining current club Liverpool – as the very best in the league in his position.
If made a few years ago, you would expect the fees for such players to be incredibly high, as at their peak, they have been untouchable in their respective sides.
Bernardo Silva still has a chance of winning a domestic treble this season and has been phenomenal, especially in recent matchweeks, his standout performance coming against Arsenal in the league last week.
What a statement it would be from Juventus if they were to make these rumours come true.
