THE Chicago Bears have made a sensational move in acquiring defensive tackle, Jeffery Simmons from the Tennessee Titans.

The All-Pro defender has moved to Chicago as part of a trade with the Titans, sending first-round picks in 2027 and 2028, alongside a fourth-round pick in next year’s draft to Tennessee for the services of Simmons.

As part of the trade alongside the 29-year-old, the Bears have also acquired a fifth-round pick in the 2028 draft.

Currently 2nd place in the NFC North, Ben Johnson’s Bears have had a solid start to the NFL season, going 5-2. However, with the return of quarterback, Caleb Williams – from a hamstring injury – the Bears will be receiving a significant boost and looking towards an ambitious push to the Super Bowl.

Chicago’s move for Simmons is the perfect embodiment of a team going ‘all in’ on an exciting young team, as they switch future and valuable draft capital for ready-now stars.

Simmons’ debut could come as soon as Monday night, with the Bears facing divisional rival and the current leaders of the NFC North in the Minnesota Vikings in a crucial game.

Spearheaded by the offensive powerhouse that is Justin Jefferson, the Vikings have had a phenomenal start to the campaign, securing a perfect 6-0 record and a win against the Bears could solidify themselves as the divisional leaders.

On the other hand, a win for the Bears would put them level for wins with Vikings, with Johnson looking for a second straight NFC North title.

The one-time Super Bowl winners were knocked out in the Divisional Round by the Los Angeles Rams last season, but with the capture of Simmons, the pressure will certainly be on the Bears, Johnson, and Williams to deliver a deep playoff run.
