Solent Rugby Club experienced a tough opening fixture to the season as they lost away to Winchester University 66-7.
The club has since been working hard on their game as they are set to face Health Sciences University away in their second fixture of the season.
A though away fixture, however Euan Avery, a coach at the club has discovered the weaknesses that led to their unfortunate loss at their first game.
The team are set to focus heavily on defense during their trainings, with most of the club confident in the attack.
One of the main reasons that many listed for their lack of defensive confidence is the fact that half of the team are new.
With players leaving after finishing university, and new players joining as they start their courses, a team of fresh faces might be able to perform well in attack, but isn’t quite there in terms of working together defensively.
With the next fixture set to be played on Wednesday, I went to the team’s training ground, at Test Park to ask them more about their current situation.
