THE Hampshire Counties II rugby season continues this weekend with the sixth round of fixtures.
Romsey Rugby Football Club 1st XV travel to Fraser Road as they take on a Havant 3s side who have won their last two outings against United Services Portsmouth and Fordingbridge respectively.
Jason Berry’s Romsey side head into Saturday’s clash with just one win under their belt from their opening five fixtures. This victory came two weeks ago at Test Park when they defeated Southampton 32-19.
Saturday’s hosts sit four places above the Roms in the league standings after securing 15 points from their opening five matches. This is thanks to three bonus point victories which sees Havant in 7th place on points difference.
The Roms, however, sit one place above the foot of the table in 11th on five points with a points difference of minus 73. However, a win on Saturday afternoon could see the side move up to eighth in the standings.
Jason Berry said: “It’s going to be tough. Havant are the biggest club in Hampshire. They have four teams and boast a great setup.
“It’s going to be a good challenge but the boys are really looking forward to it and really relishing it.”
