Patrick Dorgu faces a 10-week spell on the sidelines following a hamstring injury

MANCHESTER United defender Patrick Dorgu picked up a hamstring injury in his side’s 3-2 victory over Arsenal on the weekend.

The Danish international was taken off in the 81st minute after scoring a sublime goal to put The Red Devils 2-1 up.

The 21-year-old has excelled in his newfound left-wing position, scoring two goals in his last two Premier League games.

Dorgu joined Manchester United from Italian side Lecce a year ago for an initial fee of £25m, with add-ons having the potential to bring that fee up to £30m.

The at the time 20-year-old struggled to find his feet at his new club, failing to get regular minutes under former United manager Ruben Amorim.

However since playing 90 minutes and providing an assist in United’s game against Aston Villa on the 21st December, the versatile left-back has kick started his career with The Red Devils.

Since then Dorgu has started every game for Manchester United, scoring three goals and providing one assist.

He has kept out Brazilian attacker Matheus Cunha in the last two games, however the former Wolves player might see an increase in game time with Dorgu’s injury.

However this lack of game time hasn’t stopped Cunha from being involved in the goals, as the 26-year-old has scored one goal and provided in one assist in just 40 minutes of football across his last two games.
