HAVANT & Waterlooville have confirmed the former Southampton centre back will take on the club’s first team, marking his move into management.
The 36-year-old impressed the board during a competitive interview process with his glowing CV, strong references, and his clear long-term vision for the club.
His leadership skills on and off the pitch are something that the club were searching for within a new manager.
Martin arrives at the club with nearly 20 years of professional experience, having played for Championship and League One clubs including Southampton, Coventry, and Port Vale.
His career features several standout moments such as achieving promotion with the Saints and playing for Port Vale at Wembley in the League Two play-off finals.
Forced into an early retirement due to injury, Martin fuelled his ambition for football in other ways such as coaching and management.
He has since put his efforts into gaining his UEFA A Licence, all preparing him for his first steps into full time management.
Both Aaron Martin and the club’s board share a unified vision which involves a fresh and modern approach for the club.
His appointment signals a new era for the Hawks which should push the club forwards, on and off the pitch.
