Trump aiming to Top the cards

Judd Trump is aiming to join the prestigious list of Snooker players that have won three consecutive ranking titles in the modern history.

The list consists of Ray Reardon, Steve Davis, Stephen Hendry and Ding Junhui. With Judd Trump ‘not as confident’ as his last two outings before going into the Northern Ireland Championships.

A rare hat-trick of victories is on the cards after claiming the English Open and Wuhan Open in his previous two outings.

“I still don’t feel completely sharp, I’m not quite as confident as I was in the previous two tournaments, but every day in practice, I’m getting a bit sharper and if I can reach the quarter-finals I could be back in form,” Trump told reporters after rolling in breaks of 108, 108 and 55.

“When you’ve won a lot of matches, you start looking over your shoulder because you know it can’t go on forever.”

However, It’s not just Trump chasing for the win, as Jack Lisowski who is still in search of a ranking title tag.

Widely regarded as the best-player-to-never-win a title, Lisowski made light work of Aaron Hill with a swift 4-1 victory and faces Ricky Walden in the quarter-final.

A competition that could see a maiden victory, a record 4th NI Championship for Trump and a chance to place your name amongst the greats.

The tournament is heating up as fans await an historic ending.
