Following four wins in five games Tonda Eckert puts pen to paper to sign as Southampton first team manager.
Tonda has had a great start to life as manager since he stepped in following the sacking of Will Still.
Winning 12 points from a possible 15 points pushing the Saints into 11th place in the league.
It all looked done following the win against Leicester last Tuesday however he had one mor chance to prove himself as the saints travelled to Millwall in his last game as interim manager.
The news broke late on Friday night with many Saints’ fans wondering when the deal was going to be announced.
After putting pen to paper on a three-year deal that keeps him on the south coast till 2027 Tonda will have a lot to prove.
This is his first managerial job higher than academy levels as saints look to rise up the league and return to the premier league.
His first game in charge as first team coach was this Saturday against high flying Birmingham.
Apon signing his deal there was also a lot of questions to be asked if he was the right man for the job or if there were more experienced mangers out there for the South coast side could have signed.
However since he has been in charge the Saints have been playing free flowing football and the club look to be back at their best and ready to push on in the second half of the season.
