AFC Stoneham are set to gain promotion to the Isthmian League South Central Division as they lead the Wessex Premier Division by 11 points.
The Hampshire based side faced a top of the table clash with fellow Southampton based side Hamble Club in their previous match.
The Purps extended their lead at the top of the standings following a 3-0 victory, thanks to goals from Liam Callaghan, Tyrrell Sampson and Matt Bainbridge.
Having missed out on promotion for the last two seasons, the Purps will be hoping to put that disappointment behind them once and for all.
Midfielder Matt Brainbridge said: “We’re in a great position. As cliche as it sounds, it is almost every game as it comes.
“Three points is big and that’s obviously what we are trying to achieve.”
The side host Brockenhurst at the Stoneham Lane Football Complex on Tuesday evening as they look to extend their advantage at the top to 14 points.
It’s not just the league which the Purps are focusing on. The side remain in the FA Vase and travel to Haywards Heath Town in the fifth round proper on Saturday afternoon.
Bainbridge said: “Tuesday is another big game for us and we’ve got an exciting week ahead. Three points once again would be fantastic and then we go again on Saturday.”
