SOUTHAMPTON venue, The Concorde Club, has announced it will be hosting a special lunch with several players who were part of the Saints team who overcame Manchester United to win the 1976 FA Cup.
2026 marks the 50th year since the club won their only piece of major silverware, coming on the 1st May 1976, it was a goalless affair until Bobby Stokes beat Alex Stepney to help Lawrie McMenemy’s second division side lift the trophy.
On that day, the men who donned the yellow and blue were: Ian Turner, Peter Rodrigues, David Peach, Nick Holmes, Mel Blyth, Jim Steele, Paul Gilchrist, Mick Channon, Peter Osgood, Jim McCalliog, Hugh Fisher, and Stokes.
Turner, who was in between the sticks, Peach, Holmes, who spent his whole career at The Dell, Gilchrist, and Fisher will be those attending the event in Stoneham on Sunday 3rd May.
The event will be hosted by Southampton born, radio presenter, Mike Osman.
Both new fans, as long as they’re over 18, and those old enough to remember the triumph at the old Wembley can see their heroes up close in the form of a number of types of tickets.
They include: a single member ticket for £20, a single non-member ticket will be £25, dining and a member ticket is £55, £65 for a non-member to buy a ticket with dining included.
Those willing to part with £550 of their hard earned money, can bring a group of ten people to the event and dine.
For fans with even deeper pockets, £750 to be precise, there is an opportunity to get a ticket and dining package for eight, along with one of the players being at the group’s table.
£189 will get a couple admission to the event, as well as an overnight stay with bed and breakfast thrown in.
The doors will open at 2pm.
